Description
Robiquetia spathulata sp.is a species orchid found in the range of eastern Himalayas to Malaysia. Robiquetia, commonly known as pouched orchids. Hot to warm growing epiphyte (vandaceous) with a hanging stem carrying leathery leaves, blooms in the summer on a 4″ long pendent, many flowered inflorescence. The sepals & petals are similar to each other, the lip has three lobes and an inflated spur on its tip.The name Robiquetia honours the French chemist Pierre Jean Robiquet.
