Description
Aerides lawrenceae is a species that is endemic to the Philippines and blooms in the fall to early winter. They produce arching inflorescences up to 24″ long and can have up to 30 heavy, waxy, highly fragrant, long lasting flowers. The plants are large and carry strap shaped leaves and do well in the same growing conditions as strap leaved Vandas. Being a member of the Vandaceous alliance, Aerides have been crossed onto Vandas to produce Aeridovanda hybrids. The Aerides passing on its waxy flowers and wonderful fragrance to its hybrids.
